When you’re trying to figure out how this piece of art tells time…

Okay, so what the heck is this!? Fun fact: Brno’s orloj, or astronomical clock, is a six-meter-tall, phallus-shaped clock in the city’s main square. The clock’s design is based on an event from the Thirty Years’ War, when the Swedish army besieged Brno for almost three months in 1645. The Swedish general threatened to withdraw if the city didn’t surrender by noon, but the citizens turned the clock to 11 AM instead. The Swedes kept their word and left, and the clock commemorates this event by releasing a glass marble every day at 11 AM. Spectators can catch the marbles from openings in the clock and take them as souvenirs. The marbles come in various colors, including the city’s coat of arms.
